CLICK-Start Your Day with a Healthy Breakfast

Was your Mother right…is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? If you answered, YES, than you are correct! According to Web MD, skipping breakfast can lead to a number of problems when trying to lose weight or keep off weight. Still in doubt? Here’s what we know:

  1. Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. Research shows that when your body receives food in the morning, it tells your brain that you’re going to need to start working to digest it. This wakes up the system and warms up the metabolism so it’s ready to work throughout the day.
  2. Breakfast keeps you from binging. By skipping breakfast, one tends to make bad food choices for lunch. Choices with higher calories and less nutritional value.
  3. Breakfast improves your mood. A healthy morning meal can help regulate your blood sugar, which in turn improves your overall mood.
  4. And let’s not forget the research-confirmed weight loss and health benefits of including protein in your breakfast rather than just coffee or carbs.

Pumpkin Spice CLICK-cakes

We don’t know about you, but a nice hot breakfast on a cool morning, gets our metabolism CLICK’n! How about these coffee and protein all-in-one Pumpkin Spice CLICK-cakes:

2 scoops CLICK caramel or vanilla

1/2 cup pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)

1/4 tsp pumpkin spice + 1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp baking powder

2 egg whites

1/2 cup oats

1/2 cup

1 tbsp. sweetener of choice

Put all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!

Heat a nonstick griddle. Coat with non-stick spray.  With large spoon pour 1/4 cup of batter per pancake onto griddle.  Turn pancakes over when tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked. Serve warm! Mmmmm….CLICK-a-licious.
