Protein With a Kick ~ New Beauty Magazine
Protein With a Kick
Posted Thursday, October 27, 2011 by Shellie Terry Benson, Editor
Full disclosure: I’m a coffee snob. One of those people whose order at the coffeehouse is long and complicated—like the directions for putting together Ikea furniture. So when I came across Click, the powdered espresso protein drink, I was a bit skeptical as to whether my prissy coffee palate would put up with it.
But then again, I’m perpetually trying to lose weight and get more quality protein in my diet. So I gave Click a shot. First, I blended the mocha flavor up with water and ice one morning. It whipped up into a nice smoothie devoid of that strange protein-shake aftertaste that some powders have. More impressive was the strong coffee flavor of the equivalent of two shots of espresso. The mocha was not too sweet (a pet peeve of mine) and the powder is gluten-free, and sans artificial flavors and colors. The protein is derived from cow’s milk and soy.

CLICK awarded a 2010 Noshie by the Fit Bottomed Girls! The Fitties are the FBGs’ fave eats from the past year, and by “fave,” I mean can’t live-without, want-to-marry, kiss-the-creators’-feet good. So they really, really like the stuff and think it deserves some extra attention.

Whether you’re looking to roll out of bed and straight into a workout or just need some fuel mid-day for an extra boost, a quick shake or “liquid meal” often does the trick. If you need an extra kick to that boost, just add caffeine. Click, an espresso protein drink, hits on both fronts because it’s a caffeinated liquid meal.

For the sake of a simple review, I tasted it AS THE PACKAGE DIRECTED and it was just perfect. I prepared it cold, and look, I sucked this down, and then I cleaned the bathroom in a single bound, I did!
